How it works
A walkthrough, start to finish.
Everything is automatic after payment. Here is exactly what happens, for you and for your guests.
For the host
- Name the event and pay. On Create your album you type the event name and date and pay €69 once through Stripe. No account is created.
- Get the links. The next page and an email show your host link (private) and the guest link with its QR code. The email has the QR code attached as a PNG.
- Try it. Open the guest link on your phone and add one photo. If it appears in your host view, everything works.
- Print the QR card. Your host page has a print view: two cards per page, ready for the tables, the bar, the invitation or a screen.
- During the event the album fills up by itself. You can hide or delete any photo, and turn guest viewing off if you prefer a surprise reveal.
- Afterwards download the ZIP of original files from your host page. Uploads stay open for 90 days after the event date; the album is online for 12 months after it and then deleted, with reminders 30 and 7 days before.
For the guest
- Point the phone camera at the QR code (or tap the link in a message).
- The album opens in the browser. No app, no sign-up.
- Tap Choose photos, select as many as you like, done. Each photo shows a progress bar and “Added”.
- Guests can look through the album on the day (unless the host turned viewing off) and can report a photo that should not be there.
What happens to a photo
Before upload, the guest’s phone checks that the file is a JPEG, PNG or WebP under 25 MB, removes GPS location data from JPEGs, and makes a small preview. The photo then goes straight from the phone to encrypted storage in the EU (Vercel Blob, region Frankfurt); our server only hands out a short-lived upload permission after checking the link and the album’s quota. After upload, the server reads the first bytes of the file and deletes anything that is not a real image.
Photos are stored as uploaded (apart from the removed GPS block), so the ZIP contains the original files. The album is never listed by search engines; its links are long and unguessable. On the deletion date the whole album is removed; we keep no copies.
Limits
- 2,000 photos or 8 GB per album, whichever comes first
- 25 MB per photo; JPEG, PNG, WebP (iPhone converts HEIC automatically); no video
- Uploads for 90 days after the event date; storage for 12 months after it
