What we store, where, and for how long.

Hosts (buyers)

• At checkout Stripe collects your email, payment details and billing country. Stripe is the merchant of record and processes that data under its own privacy policy. We receive your email address and the order reference, never your card details.
• The album record holds the event name and date you typed, your email (for the welcome email and the deletion reminders), the order reference and the dates the album opens and closes. It is stored encrypted and deleted with the album.
• Emails (welcome, reminders, replies to your questions) are sent through Resend.

Guests

• Guests need no account and we ask for no name or email. Uploading a photo sends the photo itself and nothing about the guest; we do not store IP addresses with photos.
• Before upload the guest’s phone removes GPS location data from JPEG photos. Other metadata (camera, time) stays in the file, since the host receives the originals.
• Photos may show people. The host is responsible for informing guests; anyone may ask us to remove a photo of them through the Report button or by email.

Where and how long

• Photos and album records are stored on Vercel Blob in Frankfurt (EU). The web application runs on Vercel.
• The album, with every photo, is deleted 12 months after the event date (or after purchase, whichever is later). Deletion is automatic; we keep no backups of photos.
• Order data stays with Stripe for as long as tax law requires.

What we do not do

No advertising, no selling or sharing of data, no face recognition, no use of photos for training or promotion. Albums are never listed by search engines.

Visit statistics

Our pages load a small script from hotelchrono.com that counts page views for our own sites without cookies and without storing personal data (page and time only; never album links, keys or photos).

Your rights

Under the GDPR you may ask what we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, or object to processing. Email hello@gatheredphotos.com. Hosts can delete any photo, or the whole album by emailing us, at any time. You may also complain to the Slovenian Information Commissioner (IP-RS).
